Designing my new shop

Earlier this month I opened my new shop, an addition to my studio shop.
The shop is located in the picturesque neighborhood of Neve Tzedek in Tel Aviv, in an environment which I thought would best suit the character of the shop and my designs. Regarding the shop itself -  I feel like it chose me more than I chose it.
I always dreamed of an old fashioned property, with wooden window frames and a classical style. When I saw this shop in the corner of a restored building, it was love at first sight.

After a little bit of construction, it was time to paint:

After the painting the most fun part arrived- renovating the furniture. I bought most of the furniture in the flea market, fixed it and painted it. The main item in the space is a big wooden cabinet, which started as a huge and pretty ugly piece of furniture and turned, after applying paint in a fresh color, putting wallpaper and adding new handles and light fixtures into the perfect display cabinet.
In the photos you can see the cabinet in different phases and the people who helped turn it into what it is today.

The seller's desk also started as an old brown piece of furniture and turned into a light aqua table with a nice display area.

The item that took most time to work on, especially comparing to it's size is this earring stand I created from an old printer's drawer. I painted the drawer in white and decorated each box with printed paper from my collection. Small hooks made it functional and not only pretty.

One of my favorite elements in the shop is the plate collection on the wall, combined of old plates and new ones from Habitat in Barcelona, where I visited last month.

These lamps are also from the flea market. I think they add lots of character  to the space.

Before I end this post I just wanted to thank all the people who helped make this shop the magical corner it is: my family, friends and the people who work with me.
You're invited to visit my shop!
